Job summary

MH Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, coordination, execution and delivery of mechanical projects from planning through commissioning and handover. You will collaborate with Project Managers, BIM Teams, Workshop and Site Teams to ensure safety, efficiency and compliance with project specs.

The successful candidate will have a Mechanical Engineering degree, proven experience in similar roles, and the ability to review drawings, calculations and submittals while

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in a Mechanical Engineer, Project Engineer or similar role within mechanical, construction, fabrication or engineering sector.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, process pipework and industrial construction projects.
  • Experience reviewing engineering drawings, P&IDs, isometrics and technical specifications.
  • Experience supporting mechanical installations, fabrication activities and project delivery.
  • Strong understanding of engineering standards, quality requirements and industry best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience coordinating with BIM, project and site teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Experience working on pharmaceutical, data centre, industrial or large‑scale commercial projects is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of mechanical engineering projects from design through to commissioning and project handover.
  • Review project specifications, engineering drawings and technical documentation to ensure successful project execution.
  • Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical submittals and project documentation.
  • Coordinate with BIM teams to develop and maintain accurate project models and drawings.
  • Support procurement activities through the preparation of material take-offs, technical evaluations and supplier reviews.
  • Liaise with Project Managers, Site Teams, Workshop Personnel and Clients to resolve technical issues and coordinate project requirements.
  • Monitor fabrication and installation activities to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.
  • Manage technical queries, drawing revisions and design changes throughout project delivery.
  • Participate in project planning, progress meetings and multidisciplinary coordination activities.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, provide technical support and verify engineering compliance.
  • Support quality assurance, inspection, testing and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables are completed in accordance with project programmes and client requirements.
  • Identify engineering risks, opportunities and cost‑saving initiatives to support successful project delivery.
  • Maintain accurate engineering records and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote engineering best practice across projects.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal and external project stakeholders.

Job description

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the design, coordination, execution and delivery of mechanical engineering projects from initial planning through to commissioning and handover. Working closely with Project Managers, BIM Teams, Workshop Personnel and Site Teams, you will provide technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring engineering requirements are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications, client requirements and industry standards.
