Job summary

A Dublin-based multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Junior to Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join its Building Services team. You will work closely with Senior Engineers on designing HVAC, heating, ventilation, domestic water and drainage systems, with training and mentorship and increasing project ownership as you progress.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• 1–5 years' experience in mechanical/building services engineering.
• Applications welcomed from both Junior and Intermediate-level Engineers.
• Consultancy experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Good understanding of mechanical building services systems.
• Experience with Revit and AutoCAD would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Designing mechanical building services including HVAC, heating, ventilation, domestic water and drainage systems.
• Carrying out equipment sizing, system calculations and technical assessments.
• Producing mechanical specifications, reports and design documentation.
• Supporting projects from concept and detailed design through to construction and handover.
• Working closely with BIM/Revit teams to develop coordinated designs.
• Coordinating mechanical services with electrical, structural and architectural disciplines.
• Attending design team and project coordination meetings.
• Liaising with clients, architects, contractors and other consultants.
• Reviewing technical submissions and responding to RFIs.
• Carrying out site inspections and monitoring installations against the mechanical design.
• Supporting testing, commissioning and project handover activities.

An established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Junior to Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join its growing Building Services team in Dublin.

The company delivers projects across the commercial, residential, healthcare, education, industrial and data centre sectors, offering an excellent opportunity to develop your technical expertise while gaining exposure to projects from initial design through to completion.

Your New Role

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will work alongside experienced Senior Engineers and Directors on the design and delivery of mechanical building services across a diverse project portfolio.

The level of responsibility will be tailored to your experience, with strong support available for junior engineers and increasing project ownership as you progress.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing mechanical building services including HVAC, heating, ventilation, domestic water and drainage systems.
• Carrying out equipment sizing, system calculations and technical assessments.

What You'll Need to Succeed

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Approximately 1–5 years' experience within mechanical/building services engineering.
• Applications welcomed from both Junior and Intermediate-level Engineers.
• Consultancy experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Good understanding of mechanical building services systems.
• Experience with Revit and AutoCAD would be beneficial.
• Knowledge of relevant mechanical design software and calculation tools would be advantageous.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• An interest in developing within a consultancy environment and progressing towards Chartered Engineer status.
