Job summary

OMC Engineered Solutions is hiring a Mechanical Engineer for its Surface Treatment Division in Dublin. The role reports to a senior engineer and is site-based, with duties spanning design validation, field inspections, and project planning.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering degree or is currently studying, with familiarity in P&IDs, Navisworks, and equipment specifications. A 10-hour shift and on-site work are expected.

Qualifications

  • Degree or current study in Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical design processes and construction techniques.
  • Understanding of specifications, regulations and standards, P&ID’s and drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and solve design/layout issues based on client specs.
  • Review P&IDs, drawings and ISO documentation for adequacy.
  • Assist in budgets, schedules, and maintenance/test plans.

Due to continued expansion and growth, we are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer in our Surface Treatment Division. The successful candidate will be reporting to a senior Engineer on this site-based role.

Mechanical Engineer

OMC Engineered Solutions are a specialist metal fabrication and surface treatment company with bases in Limerick and Dublin. Due to continued expansion and growth, we are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer in our Surface Treatment Division. The successful candidate will be reporting to a senior Engineer on this site-based role.

Mechanical Engineer Duties
  • Assist in developing, managing, and implementing safe systems of work.
  • Assist in developing and updating circuit designs, equipment specifications, and drawings.
  • Assist in developing schedules & updating when required.
  • Analyse and evaluate project requirements, components, and systems.
  • Assist in the development of project budgets and plans.
  • Assist with the creation and revision of maintenance plans, test plans, and procedures.
  • Perform field inspections & field testing.
  • Assist in performing calculations & operations research.
  • Develop, design, and implement integrated work packages across multiple systems.
  • Conduct evaluations, inspections as required.
  • Perform site walks with clients & accurately report findings.
Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities
  • Assist in identifying, evaluating, and recommending solutions to systems design and layout issues.
  • Study P&IDs, Drawings & ISO’s to determine design adequacy.
  • Make notes on equipment, pipe specifications & cleaning requirements.
  • Review and perform calculations to determine work efficiency, equipment capacities, heating and cooling requirements based on client specs.
  • Review and recommend systems and design modifications if required.
Desired Achievements/Skills
  • Degree/studying in Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering degree
  • Solid understanding of mechanical design processes, materials, and construction techniques
  • Understanding of specifications, regulations and standards, P&ID’s & drawings
  • Solid understanding of Navis works/Model programs.

The successful candidate is subject to review after 6-12 months dependant on performance.
