Job summary

Wallace Myers International is recruiting a Senior Electrical Maintenance Technician for a busy food and beverage site in North Dublin. You will lead diagnosis and repair of electrical faults across production lines and packaging equipment to minimise downtime, and deliver planned maintenance in line with the site schedule.

You will investigate repeat failures, drive root-cause analysis, and support GMP while contributing to equipment upgrades and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Qualified electrician with formal certification (e.g., Advanced Cert Craft - Electrical / QQI Level 6)
• Proven electrical maintenance experience in manufacturing or industrial settings
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
• Exposure to PLCs, HMIs, VSDs, sensors or control systems is advantageous

Responsibilities

Overview

Our client is a long-established Irish food and beverage manufacturer running a busy, high-volume production site in North Dublin. They're adding a senior electrical hand to their engineering team.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager you'll work hand in hand with production and quality, and you'll be the one who gets lines back up quickly and keeps them there.

Responsibilities

• Lead the diagnosis and repair of electrical faults across production and packaging equipment, keeping downtime to a minimum.


• Deliver planned, preventative and reactive electrical maintenance in line with the site schedule.


• Investigate repeat failures, identify root causes and put lasting fixes in place.


• Provide mechanical and instrumentation fault-finding support where the situation calls for it.


• Contribute to equipment upgrades, factory projects and continuous improvement activity.


• Keep accurate maintenance and compliance records, supporting GMP, audit and site safety standards.

Criteria

• Qualified electrician (Advanced Certificate Craft - Electrical / QQI Level 6, National Craft Certificate or equivalent).


• Proven electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting, including automated production equipment.


• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability.


• Exposure to PLCs, HMIs, VSDs, sensors or control systems is an advantage.


• Food, beverage, FMCG or other high-volume manufacturing background is desirable.
