Job summary

PER International is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its R&D team in Leinster, Ireland. You will design mechanical structures and thermal management solutions for advanced electronic power supply products, collaborating with electronics, manufacturing and quality teams.

You will prepare detailed drawings, work with suppliers to optimize cost and manufacturability, support the product development lifecycle from prototype to production, and contribute to engineering process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with mechanical design materials selection and engineering analysis.
• Proficient in 3D CAD; Solid Edge preferred, plus SolidWorks, Creo, Onshape or Inventor.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes (sheet metal, CNC, injection moulding, additive manufacturing).
• 3–10 years of relevant mechanical design experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience designing products within power electronics or electronic hardware environments.
• Familiarity with ECAD software such as Altium Designer or Eagle.
• Experience supporting NPI and manufacturing transfer activities.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical structures and thermal management solutions for electronic power products.
• Create detailed part and assembly drawings, as well as manufacturing documentation.
• Collaborate with suppliers to optimise cost, manufacturability and quality.
• Balance mechanical, thermal, EMC and safety requirements to ensure robust designs.
• Develop datasheets, installation guides and technical literature.
• Produce rendered visuals to support product launches and marketing.
• Work with Electronics Design Engineers and cross-functional R&D teams throughout development.
• Support transitions from prototype to volume manufacturing.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and standards.
