Job summary

Alternative Heat Ltd in Dundalk is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to deliver mechanical design solutions from proposal stage through to installation and commissioning on data center projects.

You will produce detailed drawings, select plant, complete heating and hot water load calculations, develop BMS panel drawings, conduct site surveys, attend design meetings, and collaborate with the design team using AutoCAD and MEP 3D software.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical design solutions from proposal through to installation and commissioning.
• Produce detailed installation drawings, plant selections and technical schedules.
• Complete heating and hot water load calculations for accurate plant sizing.
• Develop BMS control panel drawings and operation descriptions.
• Conduct site surveys to assess services and heating plant options.
• Attend design meetings and report findings.
• Collaborate with contracts managers and commissioning teams to support wiring and controls.
