Job summary

Fohntech Group in Dublin is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team with an immediate start. You will collaborate across disciplines to deliver design packages for industrial projects in Dublin.

You’ll coordinate with engineers, construction managers, and subcontractors, manage design deliverables and approvals, and ensure compliance with design specs and schedules. The role requires strong technical and construction knowledge and at least two years post-graduate experience in

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years post graduate experience in the Industrial, Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences or Data Centre sectors.
• Demonstrable design, technical and construction knowledge is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers and construction managers to develop project plans and ensure delivery on schedule.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, estimators, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project.
• Raise any design-related risks to planning, commercial and management, and establish a course to minimise their impact.
• Oversee the construction process to ensure adherence to design specifications and schedules.
• Assist in developing design delivery schedules along with the client, project manager, design team and consultants.
• Manage the deliverables and approvals processes of design packages to ensure full approval for procurement.
• Check design programmes on projects are aligned to consultant resource and construction/ procurement requirements.
• Ensure Mechanical technical compliance on all projects.
• Assess and mitigate potential risks and issues as they’re identified in design, or that could have potential impact on construction activities.
• Prepare detailed reports, and documentation for project approval and permits.
• Provide technical guidance and support to construction teams.
