Dublin Aerospace Group in Ireland is seeking a Materials Purchaser to provide purchasing and logistics support to Base Maintenance Units, ensuring timely procurement of consumables, rotable and expendable materials for aircraft maintenance and on-time delivery.

You will coordinate with suppliers and internal customers, provide delivery updates, expedite critical orders, and drive continuous improvement across the purchasing function and overall supply chain.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Procure consumables, rotable, and expendable materials per maintenance needs.
  • Attend daily meetings and report on material availability and delivery dates.
  • Escalate risks and shortages to stakeholders; coordinate with suppliers.
  • Provide status updates on orders to internal teams and customers.
  • Expedite urgent material requests with approved suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance and chase outstanding orders.
  • Ensure accurate POs with pricing, delivery terms, and data in system.
  • Maintain ERP and inventory records; support customs clearance.
  • Coordinate rotable exchanges and ensure returns per contract terms.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in material availability and efficiency.

Job description

The Materials Purchaser is responsible for providing purchasing and logistics support to all Base Maintenance Business Units. This role ensures the timely procurement and delivery of consumable, rotable, and expendable materials required to support aircraft maintenance activities and maintain on-time aircraft delivery.The successful candidate will manage material requirements, coordinate with suppliers and customers, provide accurate delivery updates, expedite critical orders, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain and purchasing functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procure consumable, rotable, and expendable materials in accordance with requirements raised through the maintenance management system or by Check Leaders.
  • Attend daily operational meetings and provide accurate updates on material availability, outstanding orders, and anticipated delivery dates.
  • Ensure purchasing activities support aircraft turnaround targets and proactively communicate any potential material shortages or delivery risks to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide regular status updates to Check Leaders, internal departments, and customers regarding material availability, delivery schedules, and issue resolution.
  • Liaise effectively with external customers and suppliers to ensure queries and material requirements are addressed as a priority.
  • Expedite urgent material requests through close coordination with approved suppliers and vendors.
  • Monitor supplier performance and proactively follow up on outstanding orders to improve delivery timelines.
  • Ensure all purchase orders are raised accurately, with correct pricing, delivery requirements, and supporting information recorded at the point of order placement.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date order status information within the company ERP and inventory management systems.
  • Coordinate and support customs clearance requirements and provide documentation required for goods receipt and invoice processing.
  • Manage rotable exchange transactions, ensuring components are returned within agreed contractual terms to avoid late return penalties or additional charges.
  • Review historical material usage and upcoming maintenance workloads to minimise unnecessary purchasing and optimise stock utilisation.
  • Ensure all purchase orders are receipted and closed promptly to facilitate supplier payment processing.
  • Support the completion of aircraft visits by ensuring all associated sales orders can be invoiced in a timely manner.
  • Promote effective use of company systems and maintain high standards of data accuracy and housekeeping.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance material availability, purchasing efficiency, and operational performance.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Company.
