Job summary

Bellurgan Precision Engineering is seeking a Materials Manager to oversee procurement and planning functions, ensuring compliance, meeting customer and company requirements at the best value. The role reports to Operations Manager and leads the procurement and planning teams.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in senior procurement/planning within fast-paced manufacturing, strong cross-functional communication, and ERP experience (Epicor).

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in a senior procurement/planning role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong cross-functional communication across internal and external teams.
• Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience using ERP systems, ideally Epicor.
• Professional qualification in procurement/materials management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the procurement and planning teams.
• Work with the production and sales teams to ensure on-time delivery of finished products to customers.
• Lead negotiations for raw material purchases and manage the second process supply chain for best value and cost savings.
• Identify, procure and control raw material requirements used in manufacturing.
• Coordinate with Stores and Quality to resolve internal or external supplier issues.
• Maintain and report on vendor performance in line with procedures.
• Monitor ERP system accuracy and data integrity.
• Support the wider management team.

Overall Objective: As a key member of the leadership team, the Materials Manager will will be responsible for all procurement and planning activities to ensure compliance, customer & company requirements are met at the best value

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Responsibilities & Duties

• Management of the procurement and planning teams
• Work with the production and sales teams with regards to customer schedules to ensure on time delivery of finished product to customers
• Leads the negotiation of the purchase of raw materials and management of second process supply chain to ensure consistency and best value to drive cost savings
• Identify / procure and control raw material requirements consumed in the manufacture of finished product
• Co-ordinates, in conjunction with Stores and the Quality department, the resolution of any internal or external complaints of purchased raw materials and / or second process issues
• Responsible for maintaining and reporting on vendor performance and reporting findings in line with documented procedures
• Responsible for monitoring and maintaining ERP systems accuracy
• Support the wider management team
• Any other duties as reasonably required
