Job summary

CALIBER8 PTE. LTD. in Ireland is seeking a Vessel Accountant for a 1-year contract to support core finance operations, with a focus on month-end close, reporting, and group submissions in a structured, deadline-driven environment.

The role handles full accounting cycles, including depreciation, balance sheet reconciliations, GST returns, audits, and tax schedules, working with outsourced providers and DocuSign workflows. Around 5 years of hands-on maritime accounting is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a recognised professional qualification.
• Experience in the maritime industry with a ship owner/ship management company.
• Around 5 years of hands-on accounting experience, ideally covering full sets.
• Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and month-end close processes.
• Experience with GST preparation and statutory reporting.
• Clear communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage processing and payment of non-trade invoices and staff claims.
• Prepare month-end journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Perform month-end closing activities and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare fortnightly cash flow forecasts to support treasury planning.
• Prepare and submit quarterly GST returns.
• Support annual external audits and respond to ad hoc audit requests.
• Assist with corporate tax schedules and annual personal tax reporting.
• Review and administer loan facility documentation and financing records.
• Support lease accounting entries and related reviews.
• Coordinate finance documentation through DocuSign and with outsourced providers.
• Assist with ad hoc finance and accounting projects as required.
