The post is an 18-month fixed-term, full-time appointment based at the UCC Beaufort Building, Ringaskiddy, Co.

Cork, Ireland. The successful candidate will join the Marine Ecology Group to help deliver the Beneath the Waves Project, focusing on shark, skate and ray ecology

Qualifications

• Experience in year-round fieldwork, preferably on small boats.
• Strong background in practical marine research.
• Garda vetting and/or international police clearance may form part of the selection process.

Responsibilities

• Lead project delivery, with emphasis on field operations, data analysis and stakeholder management and events.
• Support electronic tagging of elasmobranch species and deployment of autonomous receivers in the field.
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops and meetings and ensure smooth project coordination.
