Job summary

Dexcom Ireland - Athenry is seeking an Engineering Technician 3 to support the scale-up of manufacturing for Dexcom products. You will work with engineers to test, deploy and validate automated equipment, while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

You will analyze test results, document findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project timelines. This full-time role offers a competitive salary and growth opportunities within a global CGM leader.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a Level 6/7 qualification.
  • Ability to read, analyse, and interpret common scientific and technical documents related to equipment specifications.
  • Ability to write routine reports, pass downs and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, engineers and managers.
  • Knowledge of PLC and Automated production/process equipment is essential. Experience with Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Electro/Mechanical systems and Resistance welders is highly desirable.
  • Experience with process improvement projects i.e. improving yields, reducing downtime.
  • Proven ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and personal interaction skills.
  • Knowledge of high reliability, high volume manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Technical writing skills as applied to manufacturing documentation and process development - Experienced in the creation and revision of technical documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Test and troubleshoot equipment per schematics and plans.
  • Operate, test, or maintain robotic equipment and vision systems.
  • Analyse and record test results, and prepare documentation.
  • Perform operational tests and fault isolation on automated systems and equipment.
  • Assist in equipment development under supervision of the project engineer, including assembly and testing.
  • Follow safety and LOTO procedures.
  • Update equipment documentation as needed.

Front End Nights Shift Pattern

12-hour night shifts (7pm - 7am) every Monday to Wednesday and alternate Thursdays, following a repeating 4-on/3-off – 3-on/4-off schedule.

: 30% premium (Mon-Thurs)

Under the direction of the Engineering Supervisor, the Engineering Technician 3will provide technical support to equipment engineers for the improvement, installation, validation and transfer of replicate custom automated equipment used in the scale-up of manufacturing for existing or new Dexcom products. These duties include supporting cross functional equipment deployment teams while working with outside suppliers to meet equipment specifications and timelines.

Where You Come In
  • You will work with schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions.
  • You will test performance of electro-mechanical assemblies, using test equipment
  • You will operate, test, or maintain robotic equipment and vision systems.
  • You will analyse and record test results, and prepare written documentation
  • You will perform operational test and fault isolation on automated systems and equipment.
  • You will carry out activities in equipment development under supervision of the project engineer. These activities include the assembly and testing of equipment, fixtures, processes and/or electronics, completing engineering studies and validations.
  • You will follow Dexcom’s Safety and Lock Out/Tag out (LOTO) program.
  • You will assume and perform other duties as assigned.
  • You will perform all assigned tasks with appropriate safety requirements.
  • You will update equipment related documentations (manuals, drawings, and specifications) as needed.

The annualised base salary for this position is from €43,095.00 to €55,770.00 gross. Final offer will depend on your qualifications, competencies, and professional experience.
