Job summary

Dexcom Ireland is seeking an Engineering Technician 3 to support equipment engineers in the scale-up of manufacturing for Dexcom products. The role involves testing electro-mechanical assemblies, operating robotic and vision systems, and analyzing test results to drive improvements.

You will follow safety programs and contribute to equipment documentation updates. A Level 6/7 qualification with 5–8 years of related experience is typical, with a 10% travel requirement.

Responsibilities

• Work with schematics, diagrams, and plans to test, checkout and troubleshoot equipment.
• Test performance of electro-mechanical assemblies using appropriate test equipment.
• Operate, test and maintain robotic equipment and vision systems.
• Analyse and record test results and prepare written documentation.
• Perform operational tests and fault isolation on automated systems and equipment.
• Contribute to equipment development activities under supervision, including assembly and testing of devices and processes.

If so, then we have an opening for you!Under the direction of the Engineering Supervisor, the Engineering Technician 3 will provide technical support to equipment engineers for the improvement, installation, validation and transfer of replicate custom automated equipment used in the scale-up of manufacturing for existing or new Dexcom products. These duties include supporting cross functional equipment deployment teams while working with outside suppliers to meet equipment specifications and timelines.Where you come in:You will work with schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions.You will test performance of electro-mechanical assemblies, using test equipmentYou will operate, test, or maintain robotic equipment and vision systems.You will analyse and record test results, and prepare written documentationYou will perform operational test and fault isolation on automated systems and equipment.You will carry out activities in equipment development under supervision of the project engineer. These activities include the assembly and testing of equipment, fixtures, processes and/or electronics, completing engineering studies and validations.You will follow Dexcom’s Safety and Lock Out/Tag out (LOTO) program.You will assume and perform other duties as assigned.You will perform all assigned tasks with appropriate safety requirements.You will update equipment related documentations (manuals, drawings, and specifications) as needed.What makes you successful:Typically requires a Level 6/7 qualification and a minimum of 5-8 years of related experienceAbility to read, analyse, and interpret common scientific and technical documents related to equipment specificationsAbility to write routine reports, pass downs and correspondenceAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, engineers and managersKnowledge of and experience with PLC and Automated production/process equipment is essential .
