Job summary

SUMMARY

Provide comprehensive equipment and process support to manufacturing operations and engineering teams in the production of high-quality products. Support manufacturing execution systems (MES), maintain and optimize production equipment and machinery, drive process improvements, and ensure adherence to quality, safety, and compliance standards.

Work Shift Description

Monday -Thursday, 8 hours per day, from 15.15 to 23.15. Friday 7 hours per day, from 14.15 to 21.15

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Inclusive of, but not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Equipment Support and Maintenance
  • Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment
  • Conduct troubleshooting and repair of manufacturing equipment and machinery to resolve operational issues and restore functionality
  • Perform device setup, configuration, and calibration for various equipment types used in production operations
  • Coordinate vendor engagement for equipment technical support, maintenance services, and spare parts procurement
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs and equipment inspection records; track preventative maintenance schedules
  • Identify equipment performance issues and implement corrective actions to reduce downtime and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
  • Perform internal equipment calibration and maintain calibration databases; organize external calibration with vendors as required
  • Update and optimize equipment programming and control parameters to meet production requirements
Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Data Support
  • Maintain and support manufacturing execution system (MES) data integrity and system functionality
  • Setup and update configuration parameters to ensure accurate product data and process configuration
  • Perform order conversions and processing for various product configurations
  • Configure and optimize assembly points for production line operations
  • Manage work-in-progress holds, material holds, and genealogy tracking setup and removal
  • Setup and print product tracking labels and manage label generation and reprinting
  • Conduct data collection setup and maintenance for MES system and production reporting
  • Process internal material transactions and manage material reprocessing procedures
  • Perform material processing and user proficiency database setup as required
  • Manage material maintenance and new material setup in MES system
Process Improvement and Technical Support
  • Support Material Review Board (MRB) disposition decisions and coordinate material rework procedures
  • Manage non-conforming material disposition and process compliance procedures
  • Create, update, and maintain manufcaturing instructions for process standardization and operator guidance
  • Manage and verify production files; update existing files to reflect process changes
  • Support component validation and inspection procedures
  • Design and coordinate fabrication of jigs and fixtures to support manufacturing processes
  • Create and update manufacturing process instructions and work instructions for operators and technicians
  • Assist in designing and modifying tooling and provide design for manufacturability recommendations
  • Perform product fit and alignment corrections to meet quality specifications
  • Identify line and cycle time improvement opportunities and implement optimization initiatives
  • Conduct downtime analysis and provide reporting to engineering and operations management
  • Maintain proficiency with manufacturing software systems and production management tools
  • Create purchase requisitions and coordinate procurement of equipment and parts
Quality, Safety, and Compliance
  • Maintain compliance database and ensure electrical safety compliance across equipment and work areas
  • Conduct safety walks and participate in the organization of safety inspections for equipment and work areas
  • Deliver safety talks and training to production teams and operators
  • Review and assess process risk for new or modified manufacturing processes
  • Support implementation of continuous improvement methodology and participate in process improvement projects
  • Conduct equipment inspections and maintain complete inspection records
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, health regulations, and quality standards in the manufacturing environment
  • Comply with company security policies and regulatory requirements
Training and Knowledge Transfer
  • Support new hire on-the-job training and equipment and safety familiarization
  • Create training materials and documentation for processes, equipment, and procedural changes
  • Assist Operators on assigned line(s) by providing ongoing training and direction.
  • Provide product handover documentation and conduct product handover training meetings
  • Support new equipment introduction and integration into production operations
Administrative and Vendor Support
  • Obtain and review vendor quotes for equipment, parts, and services; coordinate procurement
  • Organize and coordinate external calibration services with equipment vendors
  • Maintain preventative maintenance database; track maintenance schedules and service history
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Meetings
  • Represent manufacturing engineering team in cross-functional meetings addressing quality, process changes, and material issues
  • Interface with production management and manufacturing engineers on equipment issues and process improvements
  • Provide daily pass-down reports and shift handover information to support operational continuity
  • Coordinate with equipment vendors on technical issues, maintenance needs, and equipment support
  • Participate in internal and external audits and support compliance verification activities
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, Electronics, or related field; OR equivalent practical experience (minimum 1 year in a manufacturing or maintenance technician role)
  • Proven experience as a Manufacturing Technician, Equipment Maintenance Technician, or similar role in a production or assembly environment
  • Strong mechanical with ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), pneumatic systems, and hydraulic systems
  • Demonstrated proficiency with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and test instrumentation
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to diagnose equipment failures and implement effective solutionsExcellent attention to detail with ability to maintain accurate documentation and follow established procedures consistently
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to document issues, provide instructions, and communicate with technical and non-technical personnel
  • Flexibility to accommodate production needs and occasional off-shift support
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), production management software, or similar manufacturing IT systems
  • Knowledge of electronics assembly and soldering,
  • Experience programming, optimizing, or configuring automated equipment and machine control systems
  • Direct experience with automated manufacturing equipment, material handling systems, or specialized production tooling
  • Vendor coordination and technical liaison experience; ability to work with equipment manufacturers on technical issues
  • Familiarity with quality management systems, standards, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Experience participating in process improvement initiatives or quality-focused projects
  • Training, mentoring, or technical documentation development experience
  • Background in equipment installation, commissioning, or new equipment introduction projects
