Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Ireland (County Clare, Shannon) to provide technical support to the production team and help deliver high-quality, compliant repair products.

The role requires an NFQ Level 8 degree, 5+ years in an engineering role, and strong Lean/Six Sigma knowledge. You will create work instructions, review manuals, audit processes, and lead improvements to reduce costs and cycle times.

Qualifications

• NFQ Level 8 Bachelor’s degree in Materials/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum five years in an engineering role, ideally in manufacturing or regulated environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to manage complex processes across multiple disciplines.
• Structured approach to process stability with Lean/Six Sigma knowledge.
• Experience coordinating engineering or process-improvement projects.
• Excellent writing, verbal and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to production and related teams.
• Create and maintain work instructions, routers and operation sheets.
• Review manuals and repair data, implement changes per procedures.
• Audit repair processes for compliance and promote best practices.
• Establish metrics to monitor process stability.
• Lead investigations into process problems and corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs, rework, scrap and turnaround times.
• Obtain approvals for process improvements and monitor savings.
• Define equipment specs and support qualification of new equipment.
• Prepare inspection reports for customers and coordinate technical activities.
