Job summary

CREGG, based in Shannon, Ireland, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to improve processes and support production teams in a hands-on environment. You will work closely with Engineering, QA and Supply Chain to implement new products and optimise manufacturing.

The role focuses on reducing bottlenecks and driving continuous improvement. You will develop instructions, participate in design reviews, and support equipment qualification and ISO standards, ensuring safe and efficient manufacturing

Qualifications

  • Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronic or Industrial Engineering.
  • 3+ years in manufacturing or process engineering role.
  • Experience with instrumentation, electronics or medical devices.
  • Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day manufacturing and production activities.
  • Develop, implement and optimise manufacturing processes.
  • Provide hands-on technical support to production teams.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing and product-quality issues.
  • Lead root-cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Identify bottlenecks affecting throughput, quality, cost or delivery.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions, process flows and SOPs.
  • Support New Product Introduction and product-transfer activities.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide DFMA input.
  • Support prototype, pilot-build and production-readiness activities.
  • Develop manufacturing fixtures, tooling and production equipment.
  • Support equipment qualification, validation and commissioning.
  • Assist with Engineering Change Order implementation.
  • Support ISO quality standards and internal audit activities.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to production personnel.
  • Promote a safe, organised and efficient manufacturing environment.

Job description

CREGG are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a well-established Irish manufacturer of advanced gas-analysis and analytical-instrumentation solutions. Based in Shannon and reporting to the Operations Manager, this position will play a central role in improving manufacturing processes, supporting production, enhancing product quality and facilitating the introduction of new products. The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain teams in a hands‑on and technically varied manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support day‑to‑day manufacturing and production activities.
  • Develop, implement and optimise manufacturing processes.
  • Provide hands‑on technical support to production teams.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least three years’ experience in a Manufacturing Engineering or Process Engineering role.
  • Experience in instrumentation, electronics, medical devices, precision engineering or a similar technical manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous‑improvement methodologies.
  • Experience preparing manufacturing documentation, work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Knowledge of ERP or MRP systems and manufacturing‑planning processes.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification would be advantageous.
  • Experience with tooling, fixtures, equipment validation or manufacturing automation would also be beneficial.
