Position Summary

The Manager of Learning & Development is the primary L&D partner for CVS Health's technology organisation in Ireland. This is a newly created, high-visibility role is designed to bring dedicated learning capability to the Galway site while extending and strengthening the reach of the broader US-based DDAT L&D function. The right candidate must be equally comfortable operating as a strategic partner and a hands‑on practitioner. They will act as the connection between Galway and the US‑based DDAT L&D team — advancing local priorities on the ground while localising, contributing to, and drawing from the enterprise learning portfolio.

Key responsibilities
Instructional Design & Learning Experience Development
  • This role owns learning experience design and development end-to-end for local audiences, while also contributing capacity, perspective, and reusable assets to the larger DDAT L&D portfolio.
  • Design and build learning experiences that serve both Ireland-specific needs and the broader enterprise DDAT L&D portfolio, ensuring reusability and scalability wherever possible.
  • Facilitate live and virtual learning sessions with confidence and adaptability, adjusting approach to audience, energy, and cultural context.
  • Deliver a locally relevant learning calendar that blends enterprise offerings with Ireland-designed experiences, ensuring colleagues have consistent access to development.
  • Continuously evaluate learning effectiveness through data, feedback, and behavioural outcomes, and iterate designs accordingly.
Learning Business Partnership (LBP) & Consulting
  • This role serves as a primary LBP to the assigned group, owning the learning intake, consulting, prioritization, and business partnership model that connects strategy, performance needs, and learning investments.
  • Act as a senior subject matter expert in performance consulting, capability building, adult development, and leadership development for the Ireland site.
  • Build trusted relationships with DDAT managers and the site lead through regular intake conversations and structured needs assessments.
  • Translate team and individual development needs into actionable learning plans, drawing on the global DDAT L&D portfolio or sourcing and commissioning new solutions where required.
  • Translate data insights into clear narratives for Ireland and enterprise senior leaders, demonstrating learning impact and building the credibility of the L&D function on‑site.
New Hire Orientation & Onboarding
  • This role serves as a warm, proactive point of contact for new joiners through their early tenure, connecting them to people, tools, and learning pathways.
  • Lead and deliver new hire orientation for Ireland-based DDAT colleagues, ensuring the experience is locally grounded, consistently excellent, and genuinely welcoming.
  • Review and refresh orientation content to reflect Ireland employment context, cultural nuances, and the realities of joining a globally distributed technology organisation.
  • Equip managers with onboarding resources, processes and practices to help them create a positive, engaging, and successful onboarding experience for new colleagues.
Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrable experience across both instructional design and learning business partnering / performance consulting — not a specialist in only one.
  • Strong working knowledge of adult learning theory and learning experience design (Bloom's, Kirkpatrick, 70:20:10, ADDIE/SAM, multimodal design).
  • Hands‑on experience with instructional design authoring tools (Articulate Rise/Storyline, Vyond, Camtasia).
  • Proven ability to lead intake and consulting conversations with senior leaders using root‑cause analysis to shape learning and non‑learning solutions.
  • Confident facilitator across in‑person and virtual environments, adaptive to audience and context.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to represent the site credibly with senior stakeholders and the enterprise L&D function.
  • Comfortable operating autonomously in a lean, high‑ownership, matrixed structure with reporting lines and stakeholders across time zones.
  • Self‑directed and resourceful, with the maturity to plan, execute, and quality‑check own work while pulling in enterprise resources when needed.
  • Familiarity with Ireland's employment and professional development landscape.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in, or strong affinity for the technology sector; able to translate complex technical work for non‑specialist audiences.
  • Prior experience as the sole or founding L&D practitioner at a site or supporting an international site from a global function.
  • Exposure to global L&D functions within a large, matrixed organisation.
  • ATD or related professional certifications; postgraduate qualification in Organisational Development, Learning Design, I/O Psychology, or a related field.
Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Learning & Development, Organizational Psychology, Business, Change Management, Human Resources, or a related discipline.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is: €50,000.00 - €125,000.00
