Job summary

Matrix Recruitment Group represents a leading food manufacturing client seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician / Electrician to join the on-site maintenance team in Wicklow. You will repair and maintain equipment, respond quickly to breakdowns, diagnose faults, and drive improvements to reduce downtime and extend asset life.

The role requires trades-qualified electricians with strong mechanical and pneumatic skills, excellent troubleshooting ability, and fluent English.

Qualifications

• Trades qualified Electrician with FMCG/food manufacturing experience.
• Strong mechanical skills including pneumatics.
• Excellent troubleshooting and fault-finding abilities.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain machinery and equipment, including mechanical and electrical systems.
• Respond swiftly to breakdowns and restore operation safely.
• Diagnose problems and implement long-term fixes.
• Carry out planned maintenance to improve reliability and life of equipment.
• Participate in continuous improvement to reduce downtime and waste.
• Utilise PLC and machine data to identify issues and optimize performance.
• Apply improvement techniques to reduce setup times and changeovers.

Your New Job

Our client, a leading Food Manufacturing company are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician / Electrician to join the maintenance team onsite in Wicklow.

• Repair and maintain machinery and equipment, including mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems.

• Respond quickly to machine breakdowns and get equipment back up and running safely.

• Diagnose equipment problems and implementlong-term fixes.

• Carry out planned maintenance and repairs to keep equipment reliable and extend its working life.

• Seek ways to reduce breakdowns, stoppages and the need for machine adjustments.

• Make improvements to machinery and processes that reduce downtime, improve reliability and make equipment easier to run.

• Take part in continuous improvement projects, from identifying the problem through to implementing and tracking the solution.

• Use information from PLCs, OEE data and machine performance to help identify problems and improve equipment.

• Use tools such as thermal imaging, vibration analysis, ultrasonic testing and video recording when needed to diagnose faults.

• Apply SMED and other improvement techniques to reduce changeover times and simplify machine setup.

• Keep maintenance work to a safe, practical and professional standard.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

• Trades qualified Electrician with experience in FMCG / Food manufacturing.

• Strong mechanical skills, pneumatics etc

• Excellent troubleshooting / faultfinding skills.

• Experience in lean manufacturing tools & techniques is an advantage.

• Fluent English is essential along with excellent communication skills and the ability to work successfully with people at all levels.
