Job summary

UNILIN is seeking a thorough Maintenance Technician to oversee upkeep of facilities and ensure stable operations. The role requires autonomy, strict safety adherence, and strong problem-solving abilities.

The ideal candidate has a Mechanical/Electrical apprenticeship or equivalent and at least 4 years’ experience in manufacturing. You will troubleshoot diverse equipment, participate in improvement projects, and support production KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair factory equipment - electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical.
• Identify root causes and suggest long-term process improvements.
• Ensure production efficiency is maximized and downtime minimized.
• Record all breakdowns in SAP CMMS and production reports.
• Carry out Preventative Maintenance per PM schedules and suggest improvements.
• Maintain spare parts stock systems and usage controls.
• Assist in machine installations and continuous improvement projects.
• Work with Maintenance Supervisor to address downtime causes.
• Ensure a safe, clean working environment and safe practices.
• Provide guidance to Apprentices and MT1s as required.
• Overtime may be required to meet production deadlines.

Job description

We are seeking a thorough Maintenance Technician with a practical mind and attention to detail who will oversee the upkeep of our facilities and ensure the continued stability of our operations. Key Attributes:

• Mechanical/Electrical based apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
• Min 4+ years’ Maintenance Technician experience preferably in a manufacturing environment

Key Tasks and Duties:

• Work within the ethos and standards of the company
• Troubleshoot and repair of all factory equipment - electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical
• Identify the root causes of problems and suggest process improvements for long term solutions
• Ensure production efficiency is maximized and return production to full capacity promptly
• Ensure that all breakdowns are recorded in our SAP CMMS system and production reports
• Carry out Preventative Maintenance work as required by PM schedules and suggest improvements
• Maintain systems in place for spare parts stock and ensure system is being correctly utilized
• Must be able to dismantle, adjust, modify, improve, and assemble factory equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating/repair manuals, or drawings
• Take an active part in all machine installations, continuous improvements, and maintenance projects
• Work with Maintenance Supervisor to address causes of downtime and suggest process improvements
• Responsible as part of a bigger team for ensuring that all production & maintenance KPI’s are achieved
• Responsible for ensuring a safe, clean working environment and carrying work in a safe manner ensuring safety standards are met.
• Liaise with relevant departments where necessary to assist in the smooth day-to-day running of the organization
• Undertake any other tasks appropriate to the position, as requested by management
• Undertake training as and when required i.e. MEWP, Forklift, Abrasive Wheel, PFPE, Manual Handling, Fire Extinguisher, etc.
• Provide cover for the Maintenance Technician – Grade 3 when required
• Flexible working hours to meet production or maintenance deadlines
• Work shift rotation which may include working night shifts if and when required
• Make yourself available for overtime as and when required.
• Complete advanced training i.e. Confined Spaces, First Aiders, etc.
• Complete internal MT2 induction training i.e. Site Training, CBM
• Actively participate in Continuous Improvement projects
• Provide Apprentice & MT1’s with assistance and guidance in learning and development
