Job summary

Greenvolt Next in Ireland is seeking an experienced Heating Plant Technician to monitor and maintain heating systems for commercial clients. You will ensure optimal operation of boilers and heat pumps, perform routine and emergency maintenance, and troubleshoot technical issues.

Join a multi-disciplinary team, travel regularly to sites, and provide accurate documentation and reports. The role requires 2+ years in facility maintenance, reading schematics, and strong communication and IT skills.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of facility maintenance experience.
  • Experience with boiler and heat pumps is advantageous.
  • Ability to read single line diagrams and schematics.
  • Willingness to travel regularly.
  • Excellent written and communication skills; good IT skills.
  • Eligible to work full time in Ireland and hold a valid Irish driving permit.
  • Experience with biomass boiler installations or maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor heating plants and ensure optimal operation.
  • Perform corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot issues using mechanical and plumbing knowledge.
  • Interact with customers professionally as part of a team.
  • Carry out onsite installations, repairs, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide complete documentation to clients.
  • Record spare parts movements and perform root cause analysis.
  • Prepare formal technical reports on failures.

Responsibilities
  • Fully responsible for heating plant monitoring and ensuring systems operate optimally.
  • Perform varying corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance for heating systems.
  • Utilise mechanical/plumbing knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Interact with customers on a professional level as part of a multi-tasking team.
  • Perform onsite installations, repairs, and troubleshooting.
  • Check and provide complete documentation to clients.
  • Carry out site root cause analysis and apply root cause analysis techniques on major and recurring faults.
  • Investigate technical failures and prepare formal technical reports.
  • Record keeping and management of spare part movements.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of facility maintenance experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the maintenance of boiler and heat pumps (advantage).
  • Able to read and interpret single line diagrams and schematics.
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 35 kg.
  • Willing to travel regularly.
  • Strong written and communication skills; good IT skills.
  • Must be eligible to work full time in Ireland; must have a valid driving permit in Ireland.
  • Knowledge of how to use hand tools; ability to drive in Ireland independently.
  • Demonstrated ongoing professional development to degree level or equivalent.
  • Good interpersonal skills and proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels; willingness to learn and be a good team player.
  • Experience of biomass boiler installations or maintenance.
  • Excellent maintenance management software and applications skills.
