Morgan McKinley is seeking a Maintenance Improvement Lead for a manufacturing facility in Waterford. You will report to the Engineering & Maintenance Manager and work across Process, Automation, Production, H&S and Quality teams to drive reliability and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include leading safety and quality issue resolution, supporting Opex/Capex projects, and developing maintenance strategies. Weekend shifts may require plan adjustments and BOM/PM reviews in SAP.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical or electrical craft qualification or engineering degree.
  • Experience in a similar maintenance/improvement role is desirable.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical ability.
  • Knowledge of SAP and MS Office is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, investigate and resolve complex safety, quality, plant and process-related issues with a reliability and CI mindset.
  • Lead maintenance works with a high focus on H&S, risk assessment and risk mitigation.
  • Investigate and support opportunities for Opex and Capex investments and CI projects.
  • Attend meetings and drive actions to completion.
  • Complete RCA's, CBA's and event reports.
  • On weekend shifts, amend the Maintenance Plan to reprioritise works.
  • Support condition-based monitoring systems and rollout of the system.
  • Assist SAP improvements including BOMs, data gathering, and updating PMs.
  • Support budget, EHS compliance, and change management within Engineering & Maintenance.
  • Manage external contractors and validate completed works.
  • Support LOTO and permitting system related to Maintenance.
  • Develop training strategies to upskill Maintenance staff and apprentices.
  • Optimise MRO stores stock levels with cross-functional collaboration.

Job Description

Maintenance Improvement Lead: Reporting to the Engineering & Maintenance Manager at a manufacturing facility, they will work in a technical improvement and support role, working closely with Process, Automation, Production, H&S and Quality teams. Key Responsibilities (but not limited to): Manage, investigate and resolve complex safety, quality, plant and process-related issues with a reliability and continuous improvement mindset. Lead maintenance works with a high focus on H&S, risk assessment and risk mitigation. Investigate, lead and support opportunities for Opex and Capex investment and propose continuous improvement projects that will reduce costs, reduce risk and/or mitigate downtime. Attend meetings and forums and take ownership of resolving actions where applicable. Complete and support RCA's, CBA's and event reports. When on shift at weekends, amend the Maintenance Plan where required to reprioritise works. Support condition-based monitoring systems, ensuring actions and alarms are investigated, and support the evolution and rollout of the system across additional equipment. Support the Engineering & Maintenance department with SAP improvements, including work on BOMs, data gathering, and amending and reviewing PMs to ensure they are fit for purpose and contain appropriate detail and spare parts information. Support the Engineering & Maintenance department in managing: Department budget EHS best practice and compliance Engineering change management Action closure Manage external contractors where required and validate completed works. Support the LOTO and permitting system when works relate to the Maintenance team. Develop strategies to ensure technician training requirements are identified and support the ongoing skills enhancement of Maintenance team members and apprentices. Optimise MRO stores stock levels and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure critical spare parts are identified and maintained in stock. Qualifications and Experience: Mechanical or Electrical craft qualification, or third-level qualification in Engineering. Relevant experience in a similar role is desirable.
