Job summary

McAree Engineering Works Ltd in Ballinode, Monaghan, is hiring multiple Maintenance Fitter for a 39-hour week. The role involves mechanical assembly of industrial units, maintenance and repair of machinery, and reading technical drawings to ensure precise fitting.

Candidates should have experience in manufacturing or mechanical environments, be proficient with hand and power tools, and able to work safely within a team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a manufacturing, maintenance, mechanical fitting, or industrial assembly environment.
• Good mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving ability.
• Experience using hand and power tools is essential.
• Ability to read technical drawings and follow instructions.
• MIG welding experience advantageous but not essential.
• Overhead crane experience beneficial; training may be provided.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
• Good level of English preferred for safety and operational purposes.
• Education & Skills: Trade qualification or relevant mechanical experience desirable.
• Manual handling awareness preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical assembly of industrial units and sub-components.
• Maintenance and repair of machinery and production equipment.
• Use of hand and power tools including drills, grinders, torque tools, and cutting equipment.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and assembly instructions.
• Bolting, fitting, aligning, and securing mechanical components.
• Assisting with preventative maintenance activities.
• Operating overhead gantry cranes and lifting equipment.
• Supporting production and material handling operations.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures.
• Maintaining quality standards and reporting defects where necessary.
