Job summary

Peake Dairy Services Limited in Mountmellick, Co. Laois, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to service and repair industrial machinery within the plant. The role focuses on preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis and safe operation of equipment in a dairy processing facility.

The successful candidate will carry out planned maintenance, diagnose faults, replace components and support equipment upgrades. A minimum of 2 years' experience and Level 4 qualification are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience as a Maintenance Fitter or similar role.
• Level 4 qualification including Leaving Certificate or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine, preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial machinery and plant equipment.
• Inspect machinery to identify faults, wear, damage and potential failures.
• Diagnose mechanical breakdowns and repair to minimise downtime.
• Install, assemble, dismantle, service and repair industrial machinery and components.
• Maintain equipment such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, bearings, valves and related systems.
• Replace defective components and adjust machinery for safe operation.
• Perform scheduled inspections, lubrication and servicing per maintenance plans and manufacturers' recommendations.
• Assist with machinery installation and plant improvement projects.

Job Description

Peake Dairy Services Ltd is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join its maintenance team at its facility in Drinagh, Mountmellick, Co. Laois. R32 VX83. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, diagnosing mechanical faults, repairing industrial machinery and equipment, and ensuring that plant and production equipment operate safely and efficiently.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Carry out routine, preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial machinery and plant equipment.
• Inspect machinery and mechanical systems to identify faults, wear, damage and potential equipment failures.
• Diagnose mechanical breakdowns and undertake repairs to minimise production downtime.
• Install, assemble, dismantle, service and repair industrial machinery and mechanical components.
• Maintain and repair equipment such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, bearings, valves and associated mechanical systems, where applicable to the plant.
• Replace defective components and adjust machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Carry out scheduled inspections, lubrication and servicing in accordance with maintenance plans and manufacturers' recommendations.
• Assist with machinery installation, equipment upgrades and plant improvement projects.

Renumeration is €36605 per annum based on 39 hours per week.
