Liebherr Container Cranes Ltd. in Killarney, Ireland is seeking a Maintenance Fitter on a 2-year Fixed Term Contract reporting to the Maintenance Foreman. You will carry out maintenance on machines, optimise functionality and ensure safe operation.

Responsibilities include maintenance, repair and installation, adherence to preventative maintenance schedules, record-keeping, updating logs and parts inventories. Paid overtime and an end-of-year bonus are available.

Qualifications

• Qualified Fitter or similar qualification.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a maintenance role.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Basic PC skills required.
• Experience with overhead cranes and lifting equipment is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Maintenance, repair and installation of machines and services across the factory.
• Work with preventative maintenance schedules and job cards.
• Maintain service and maintenance records and sign off completed tasks.
• Update shift handover logbook and spare parts logs.
• Provide feedback on machinery weaknesses and maintenance needs.
• Learn machine operation and develop maintenance skills.
• Work on own initiative and liaise with operators, chargehands and supervisors to complete tasks.
• Check manuals, drawings and schedules when required.
• Remove machines from service if safety risk exists.
• Training on current/future machines may require travel abroad.

We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Fitter on a 2-year Fixed Term Contract. Reporting to the Maintenance Foreman, the Maintenance Fitter will be responsible for carrying out the maintenance on machines, optimising functionality and ensuring machines are in safe working order. They will work efficiently, as per maintenance schedule, completing records for each machine.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Maintenance, repair and installation of miscellaneous machines and services throughout the factory, in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
• Working in accordance with preventative maintenance schedules, job cards and procedures.
• Maintenance of records, either manually or using a PC based recording system.
• Recording of service / preventative maintenance records and signing off of job cards for completed tasks.
• Updating shift handover logbook as required at the end of the shift.
• Updating of spare parts log / store inventories and recording of parts used.
• Providing feedback on weak points on machinery, and further machine maintenance requirements.
• Learning how machines function, and development of skills, knowledge and competencies regarding machine maintenance tasks.
• Working on own initiative and liaising with operators, chargehands, supervisors and others as required to successfully complete maintenance tasks.
• Checking machine manuals, drawings, preventative maintenance schedules etc. when required to successfully complete tasks.
• Removing machines from service, which, if put back into operation may pose a health and safety risk to operators or others.
• Training, both on and off the job, on current and future machines / services within the company, this may necessitate travel abroad for training.

Qualifications, Requirements & Experience

• A qualified Fitter or other relevant related qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years’ previous experience in a maintenance department.
• The ability to work at heights and in confined spaces is essential.
• Basic PC skills are required.
• Experience in the use and/or maintenance /repair of overhead cranes and lifting equipment would be an advantage.
• Experience with heavy steel construction environment would be an advantage.
• Must be available to work 06:30 – 15:00 / 15:00 – 23:30 Monday to Thursday and 06:30 – 12:30 / 12:30 – 18:30 on Fridays.
