Job summary

Digital Manufacturing Ireland seeks a Machine Vision Engineer to integrate machine vision into automation projects and drive quality control improvements. You will work with automation engineers, develop vision algorithms, and support PLC/robotic system integration across manufacturing environments.

The role requires hands-on experience with Cognex/Keyence/Halcon, familiarity with AI tools, and strong problem-solving and communication skills. A hybrid work setup in Limerick is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronic, or Process Engineering (or equivalent).
• Extensive experience integrating machine vision in automation.
• Proficient in PLC programming and robotics integration.
• Familiar with industrial protocols and standards.
• Knowledge of lighting and lens setup for automation.
• Experience with AI tools like PyTorch or TensorFlow (advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Integrate machine vision into automated manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with automation engineers to optimise vision systems.
• Develop and deploy vision algorithms for defect detection and process improvement.
