Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is seeking a qualified M&E Coordination Manager to join a major Carlow building project. The role focuses on reviewing M&E design information, coordinating information flows, and ensuring timely releases for construction activities.

You will manage submissions, approvals, and subcontractor interfaces, ensuring safety and contractual compliance while supporting tender and BIM-related processes. A 5+ year M&E on-site background is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years working on site with a large-scale construction/engineering organisation.
• Degree qualified in a relevant area.
• A background in M&E.
• Residential, Commercial and/or mixed-use development experience.
• H&S awareness.
• Time-served mechanical/electrical background.
• Experience delivering project tenders and BIM/Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Review M&E design information and undertake a full design gap analysis with the project team.
• Monitor and co-ordinate the flow of M&E design information to ensure timely release for construction activities.
• Manage submission and approval process of all M&E equipment and drawings.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, client and company requirements; assist with BCAR uploads.
• Assist in selection and appointment of M&E subcontractors.
• Ensure subcontractors work within the Safety Management System and meet quality and statutory requirements.
• Maintain accurate minutes of subcontractor meetings.
• Assist quantity surveyors with review and preparation of subcontractor accounts.
• Manage multiple projects and subcontractors; assist in tender preparation.

Making Possible

• Review M&E design information and undertake a full design gap analysis in conjunction with the project team.
• Monitor and co-ordinate the flow of M&E design information to ensure the timely release of information for construction activities.
• Manage the submission and approval process of all M&E technical equipment as required.
• Manage the submission and approval process of all M&E design information (drawings) as required.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, client and company requirements and assist with the preparation of the submission required for the BCAR uploads.
• Ensure M&E designs and details produced are economic and do not exceed budgeted or tendered cost and comply with our contract deliverables.
• Assist, in the selection and appointment of the M&E Sub-contractors.
• Ensure that specialist mechanical and electrical & sprinkler sub-contractors work strictly within company Safety Management System and comply fully with all its requirements.
• Ensure that specialist mechanical and electrical & Sprinkler sub-contractors provide in a timely manner all quality and statutory requirements.
• Manage and maintain accurate minutes of subcontractor meetings.
• Assist project quantity surveys with review and preparation of subcontractor monthly and final accounts.
• Manage multiple projects and multiple sub-contractors.
• Assist in the preparation of project tenders.

What do you bring to the role?

• Minimum of 5 years working on site with a large-scale construction/engineering organisation.

• Previous experience in Residential, Commercial and / or mixed-use development
• H&S awareness.
• Time-served mechanical/ electrical background.
• Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency and meet challenging work goals.

• Experience in preparation of project tenders.Experience delivering project with BIM, word, Excel etc.
