Smyths Toys is seeking a Logistics Analyst to join our Head Office team at Mervue Business Park, Co. Galway. This full-time, permanent role offers 37.5 hours per week with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities to optimise our supply chain operations.

The ideal candidate has logistics/supply chain experience, a relevant degree, strong organisational skills, and proficiency in Excel; SAP experience is an advantage. Attractive salary and bonus are offered.

• Relevant third level qualification.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Proficient in full Microsoft package, especially Excel.
• SAP experience is an advantage.
• Be highly numerate and process focused.
• Knowledge of logistics subset.

Responsabilités

• Gather, clean and interpret supply chain metrics using Excel and SAP to identify trends.
• Identify cost-effective shipping methods and transport routes.
• Monitor and manage inventory costs.
• Liaise with carriers, freight forwarders, and suppliers to resolve disruptions and evaluate performance against standards.
• Implement project plans and update logistics databases.

Responsibilities

The Logistics Analyst will report directly to the Logistics Manager and will be responsible for the following:

• Data Analysis & Reporting: Gather, clean, and interpret supply chain metrics using tools such as Excel and SAP to identify trends.
• Network & Route Optimisation: Identify cost-effective shipping methods and transport routes.
• Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory costs.
• Vendor & Supplier Coordination: Liaise with carriers, freight forwarders, and suppliers to resolve disruptions and evaluate performance against established quality standards.
• Process Improvement: Implement project plans and update logistics databases.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience in a Logistics/Supply Chain environment.
