Job summary

Red Penguin Ltd. is seeking an Audio Visual Technician to install, configure and operate AV systems for live events and corporate functions at their Cork location.

The role involves pre-event testing, on-site operation, and collaboration with clients and venue staff to ensure flawless delivery. The position requires hands-on experience with PA systems, microphones, speakers and projectors, plus strong diagnostics and troubleshooting skills in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

• Experience installing and operating AV equipment in events.
• Knowledge of PA systems, microphones and signal flow.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and meet event requirements.
• Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and operate AV equipment for live events and corporate functions.
• Conduct pre-event testing, sound checks and diagnostics.
• Monitor AV systems during events and resolve issues to minimise disruption.
• Troubleshoot faults in audio and signal flow, implementing corrective actions.
• Assist with placement of sound, lighting and presentation equipment according to event specs.
• Maintain and transport AV equipment safely and in accordance with procedures.
• Liaise with event coordinators, clients and venue staff to meet technical requirements.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures during setup and dismantling.
