Job summary

ESB in Dublin is seeking an IT Professional to join the Linux Systems Engineering team. You will manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers, including physical, virtual, and cloud-hosted environments, to ensure high availability for SAP and business applications.

Experience with automation (Ansible/Bash), Satellite, and OpenShift is essential. Hybrid working with Smart Working arrangements is offered, with in-person presence a couple of days per week.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience administering enterprise RHEL environments in production.
• Recognised third level qualification in Computing, Information Technology or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues independently.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, maintain and monitor Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems (physical, virtual and cloud-hosted) for high availability of business-critical apps.
• Troubleshoot production issues and escalate when needed.
• Administer Satellite and Ansible for patching, configuration and lifecycle management.
• Implement routine automation using Bash and Ansible to improve efficiency.
• Apply cybersecurity best practices including patching, access control and system hardening.
• Support hosting of SAP and database environments (SAP HANA, DB2, MaxDB, Oracle) on RHEL.
