Position Summary
Test Triangle is seeking an experienced Red Hat Linux System Administrator to support a large-scale enterprise Linux transformation initiative. The role focuses on administering mission‑critical Red Hat environments and leading RHEL 8 to RHEL 9 migration activities using the Leapp Upgrade Tool.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain enterprise Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8 & 9) environments
- Plan, execute, and validate RHEL 8 to RHEL 9 migration projects using Leapp
- Perform pre-upgrade assessments, remediation, and post-migration validation activities
- Manage Linux storage environments including LVM, XFS, and filesystem optimization
- Configure and maintain Red Hat Satellite 6.14 infrastructure
- Implement automation solutions using Ansible and Bash scripting
- Support VMware-based virtualized server environments
- Perform Linux troubleshooting, performance tuning, and root cause analysis
- Execute patch management, system hardening, and security compliance activities
- Manage GRUB configurations, boot processes, and Linux recovery procedures
- Create and maintain system documentation, migration runbooks, and operational procedures
- Collaborate with infrastructure and project teams to ensure successful migration delivery
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of Linux System Administration experience
- Strong hands‑on expertise with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and 9
- Mandatory experience using the Leapp Upgrade Tool for RHEL migrations
- Proven experience delivering RHEL 8 to RHEL 9 migration projects
- Strong VMware administration and virtualization experience
- Proficiency in Ansible automation and Bash scripting
- Experience managing Red Hat Satellite 6.14 environments
- Strong knowledge of LVM, XFS filesystems, and Linux storage management
- Experience with GRUB configuration and Linux system recovery techniques
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
- Experience supporting enterprise production environments
Preferred Skills
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification
- Experience with infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices
- Knowledge of container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience working on large-scale infrastructure modernization projects
