Lyrath Estate, a luxurious 5-star hotel in Kilkenny, seeks a Linen Porter to handle linens and support the housekeeping team. You will manage linen flow from collection to distribution, ensuring stock levels and tidy linen rooms, while promoting safety standards.

Flexible shifts include mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays. Eligibility to work in Ireland is required; on-site work with staff meals, parking, and accommodation discounts offered.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in housekeeping or a similar role is an advantage but not essential.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good physical stamina (lifting, bending, standing for long periods).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic understanding of health and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Collect, sort, and transport soiled linens from guest rooms and service areas to the laundry facility
• Distribute clean linens to housekeeping storage areas and ensure adequate stock levels at all times
• Organize and maintain linen rooms in a clean, tidy, and orderly condition
• Assist housekeeping staff with linen-related requests promptly
• Monitor linen inventory and report shortages, damages, or discrepancies
• Ensure proper handling and care of linens to minimize loss and damage
• Operate laundry equipment safely if required (in-house laundry)
• Follow health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times
• Assist with general housekeeping duties when needed

The luxurious 5 star Lyrath Estate Hotel are now hiring for a Linen Porter to join our accommodation team. The Linen Porter is responsible for ensuring the efficient handling, distribution, and storage of all hotel linens and laundry. This role supports the housekeeping team by maintaining a consistent supply of clean linens and contributing to overall cleanliness and operational efficiency within the hotel.

This role will require full flexibility. Applicants must be available to work a range of shifts including Mornings, Evenings, Weekends and Public Holidays.

To be considered for this role, you must be eligible to work in Ireland.
