Job summary

Jacobs in Ireland is seeking an Intermediate Civil Engineer to join our team and support life science projects across pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical facilities. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and execution of civil engineering solutions for pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and advanced manufacturing facilities.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-value, cutting-edge projects within the life sciences sector.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
3–7 years’ civil engineering experience, life sciences or advanced manufacturing preferred.
Membership or eligibility for Engineers Ireland (MIEI or CEng preferred).

Responsibilities

Draft and develop detailed designs for roads, drainage, SuDS, and underground utilities.
Create 3D models and integrate them into project models.
Provide technical support during construction, respond to RFIs, liaise with onsite teams.
Prepare contract documents, conduct technical reviews, and approvals during construction.
Ensure compliance with relevant standards in designs and documentation.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects.
Support project management activities, including risk assessments and progress reporting.
