Job summary

O’Donoghue Ring Collection in Killarney, Co. Kerry, is hiring a full-time Lifeguard/Leisure Centre Attendant to join our Leisure Centre team. You will monitor pool operations, ensure safety, assist guests, and maintain cleanliness and high standards of service.

The ideal candidate holds NPLQ or RLSS (or equivalent), is fluent in English, and has experience as a lifeguard or attendant in hospitality. We encourage pursuing qualification with our support as needed.

Qualifications

• The candidate must hold NPLQ or RLSS (or equivalent) qualification.
• English language proficiency is required.
• Experience as lifeguard or pool attendant in hospitality preferred.
• Flexibility to work midweek and weekends.
• A fitness or swimming teacher qualification is an advantage.

A full-time permanent Lifeguard - Leisure Centre Attendant to join our Leisure Centre team. The successful candidate will report to the Leisure Club Manager, the team manages the leisure centres in both the Killarney Plaza Hotel & Spa and the Killarney Towers Hotel. The successful candidate must have the NPLQ or the RLSS qualification or equivalent; however, for full-time positions, the company would be happy to support the right candidate in obtaining this qualification. The Lifeguard is responsible for monitoring, cleaning, and protecting the pool and surrounding areas.As a Leisure Club Attendant, you will work closely with the Leisure Club Manager to ensure the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the leisure facilities. Your responsibilities will include supervising the pool area, maintaining high safety standards, assisting and engaging with members and guests, responding to emergencies when required, and ensuring that the leisure facilities remain clean, tidy and welcoming at all times. You will support the Manager in maintaining operational standards, delivering excellent customer service and ensuring that all health and safety procedures are followed. You will play an important role in ensuring that all guests and members enjoy a safe, positive and memorable experience.If you are a qualified lifeguard who enjoys working with people, takes safety seriously and is committed to delivering excellent customer service, we would love to hear from you.

What you'll do:

• Supervise swimming pool area
• Meet highest standard of safety
• Maintain a high standard of customer service
• Act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency
• Maintain high standards of supervision while performing lifeguard duties as required by the Pool Supervisor.

About you:

• The successful candidate must have the NPLQ or the RLSS qualification or equivalent.
• You must be fluent in the English language.
• Have previous experience working as a Lifeguard or attendant, ideally in the Hospitality industry.
• Be flexible regarding your availability, the ability to work midweek and weekends is required.
• A fitness qualification is an advantage.
• A swimming teacher qualification is also an advantage.
• A strong understanding of pool safety, health and safety procedures, and emergency response.
• A friendly, professional and reliable attitude, with the ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
• A commitment to maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming leisure environment.
