Senior Lean & Operational Excellence Consultant - Life Sciences

Urgent Fixed-Term Contract

Location: Dublin, Ireland | Site-based

Contract: Initial 3-month fixed-term contract, with a strong likelihood of extension to 6 months

Salary: c. €140,000 per annum, pro rata for the contract duration (depending on experience), plus health cover and pension

A senior consulting assignment combining hands-on Lean expertise, senior stakeholder management and the ability to drive measurable improvement within Life Sciences manufacturing.

OPEX Selection is recruiting for an established specialist international consulting organisation with an excellent reputation in Lean, Operational Excellence and sustainable business transformation.

An urgent requirement has arisen for a Senior Consultant to support a major Life Sciences client at a manufacturing site in Dublin. This is a highly visible assignment for someone who can establish credibility quickly, engage senior operational leaders and bring energy, structure and momentum to improvement delivery.

The opportunity:

You will work closely with client leadership and the wider consulting team to shape priorities, coordinate improvement activity and ensure delivery translates into measurable operational benefits.

Senior stakeholder management is central to the assignment. You will need the confidence and judgement to navigate competing priorities, challenge constructively and secure commitment to action, while building strong, productive relationships.

You will also remain close to operations: facilitating workshops, coaching leaders and teams, supporting practical Lean implementation and helping embed the capability and behaviours needed to sustain improvement.

Your technical background should include areas such as Tiered Management, Kaizen, structured problem solving, OEE, operational flow and SMED, supported by a clear record of delivering results.

What we’re looking for:

• Substantial Lean / Operational Excellence experience, with a proven record of delivering sustainable improvement within Life Sciences manufacturing. Life Sciences experience is essential.
• Strong senior stakeholder management skills, with the credibility to influence operational leaders, manage expectations and address resistance effectively.
• Experience leading complex improvement or transformation activity, combining clear priorities and accountability with practical implementation.
• Excellent facilitation, leadership coaching and interpersonal skills, operating confidently from the shop floor through to senior leadership.
• Minimum Six Sigma Green Belt certification; Black Belt highly desirable.
• Previous consulting experience is highly desirable, particularly where you have managed client relationships and taken ownership of delivery.

This assignment requires someone who can become effective quickly within a demanding client environment. Accomplished industry leaders will also be considered where they can demonstrate the senior stakeholder credibility, independence and consulting approach required.
