Job summary

The Vet Office in Portmarnock, County Dublin, Ireland is recruiting a Lead Veterinary Surgeon for a brand-new small animal clinic. You will lead the clinical team, while remaining actively involved in medicine and surgery, shaping standards and culture from day one.

Qualifications

• Qualified Veterinary Surgeon (MVB, DVM or equivalent)
• 3+ years' veterinary experience
• Strong small animal clinical skills
• Good clinical decision‑making
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Interest in mentoring and developing colleagues
• Proactive approach to patient and client care
• Interest in the commercial and operational side of a veterinary practice
• Previous Lead Vet or Senior Vet experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop the clinical team
• Mentor vets and support their clinical progression
• Champion high standards of medicine and patient care
• Work closely with the Head Nurse
• Develop clinical protocols and best practice
• Drive preventative healthcare and client education
• Help shape the clinic's culture as it grows
• Lead delivery of the clinic's business plan
• Monitor KPIs and clinic performance
• Contribute to the long‑term growth and success of the practice
