AECOM is seeking an ambitious Senior/Principal Project Engineer to join our dynamic and young Transportation team in Dublin. This role involves multidisciplinary infrastructure projects across roads, rail, public transport, greenways, and enabling works.

Your Role & Responsibilities

• Deliver and coordinate design packages on complex infrastructure programmes.
• Manage and lead diverse major infrastructure projects.
• Ensure all project deliverables meet AECOM quality standards and are managed effectively to time and budget.
• Work across multiple teams, interrogating outputs from other disciplines.
• Work directly with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders, guiding them through technical challenges.
• Support and coach junior engineers.
• Lead, manage, and mentor large project teams, ensuring technical excellence and quality outcomes.
• Oversee preparation of documentation, technical reports, and design submissions according to Irish and European standards.
• Act as primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Drive planning applications, tender documentation, and construction supervision activities.
• Conduct and review site inspections, surveys, and technical assessments.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Support resource planning, programme management, and risk mitigation.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, providing expert technical guidance.
• Champion innovation, sustainability, and digital delivery.

Qualifications

• Irish National Framework Qualification Level 8 (Honours Degree) or higher in Civil Engineering or related discipline. International applicants will hold an equivalent Degree recognised by the International Engineering Alliance (Washington Accord).
• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline; Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) is highly desirable.
• 7 to 12 years of relevant experience in the design and delivery of major roads, public transport, light rail, rail, or enabling works projects, or similar transferable experience from water, energy, or utilities sectors.
• Proven track record of leading project teams and delivering projects to programme and budget.
• Strong knowledge of Irish and European design standards, planning processes, and statutory requirements.
• Experience preparing and reviewing technical reports, drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.

Desirable experience / Qualifications

• Project Management Qualification such as PMP.
• Construction Manager Qualification such as CCM.
• NEC3/4 ECC Supervision Accreditation.
• Chartership or close to Chartership in relevant professional body.
• OSHA Safety Certification.
