Job summary

Mastercard in Ireland, Dublin area, seeks a Lead Software Development Engineer to drive Java-based, high-performance applications for the Commercial Payments platform. You will partner with cross-functional teams to define features, deliver scalable solutions, and maintain top-tier security and reliability.

You will mentor engineers, contribute to architecture and coding standards, and ensure timely delivery while upholding Mastercard's security practices and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in information systems, IT, CS or engineering.
• Strong Java development experience with Spring/Hibernate.
• Experience in agile environments and contributing to retrospectives/elaboration sessions.
• Solid understanding of software engineering concepts and methodologies.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and JSON/SOAP-based APIs using Java.
• Knowledge of cloud native development such as Cloud Foundry, AWS, etc.
• High energy, proactive, details-oriented and able to work under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Overview

In Control For Commercial Payments is a system within the Smart Data Commercial Platform. We allow issuing banks to provide Virtual Card solutions for their Commercial customers by provisioning and reporting through our 3 channels of API/Batch/UI. Focused on secure, highly available and innovative solutions, this dynamic team is responsible for end-to-end solutions for a diverse global customer base. We are seeking a Lead Software Development Engineer to work with our cross-functional development teams.

Role

• Proactive Lead Software Development Engineer for a world class distributed agile
• Work with a team of talented engineers to develop high performance, high volume Java applications
• Work closely with technical leads and product management technical to help define features and user stories
• Contribute to day to day system development and maintenance activities of the team to meet service level agreements (SLAs) and help create solutions with high level of innovation, cost effectiveness, high quality and faster time to market
• Provide technical training to the other team members
• Actively look for opportunities to enhance standards and improve process efficiency

• Possesses strong communication skills -- both verbal and written – and strong relationship, collaborative skills and organizational skills
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience
