Job summary

Jobgether, on behalf of a partner company, seeks a Lead Security Engineer – Vulnerability Response (Imunify360) based in Ireland. You will build an AI-assisted vulnerability response pipeline, extend WAF protections, and lead a small security analytics team to accelerate vulnerability detection and protection.

You will develop ModSecurity/SecLang rules, validate protections with automated test harnesses, and integrate AI into the workflow while ensuring accuracy and reliability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in web or application security.
• Experience with web app attack classes (Sqli, XSS, RCE, etc).
• Strong skills in writing WAF rules (ModSecurity/SecLang, CRS).
• Regex proficiency for detection rules.
• Ability to read PHP and understand vulnerabilities from advisories/patches.
• Strong Python for automation pipelines.
• Experience with CI/CD and automated testing.
• Hands-on use of AI/LLM tools with validation.
• Leadership of security analysts and end-to-end projects.
• Product-minded with customer impact in mind.
• Clear communication and collaboration across teams.
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain decision quality.
• English proficiency at upper-intermediate or higher.

Responsibilities

• Own the vulnerability response pipeline from intake to disclosure.
• Expand AI-assisted protection to ModSecurity and Coraza WAF rules.
• Develop and maintain ModSecurity/SecLang rules to detect real-world vulnerabilities.
• Build automated test harnesses to minimize false positives.
• Integrate AI into vulnerability analysis and rule generation with validation.
• Lead and mentor security analysts and manage priorities.
• Define and monitor KPIs like time-to-protection and coverage.
• Automate security advisories and collaborate with marketing.
• Analyze disclosures and translate findings into defensive rules.
• Balance speed and precision to protect customers without blocking traffic.
• Drive continuous improvement of the pipeline against threats.
