Job summary

AtkinsRéalis, Cork, seeks an experienced Lead Scheduler / Planning Manager to lead integrated project scheduling for major capital programmes in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors. You will drive governance, forecasting and schedule risk management across EPCM delivery teams and contractors.

You will coordinate with client leadership, design consultants and contractors, review contractor programmes, and develop recovery plans to keep projects on track.

Qualifications

  • Relevant years of experience in project planning, scheduling or project controls.
  • Experience on large-scale pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, semi-conductor, mission critical or industrial projects.
  • Strong understanding of EPCM, EPC and construction project delivery models.
  • Demonstrable experience developing and managing complex integrated master schedules.
  • Experience reviewing contractor programmes and analysing schedule performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and manage integrated project schedules across all project phases.
  • Establish schedule management procedures, standards and governance frameworks.
  • Lead schedule development workshops with project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, CQV and operational readiness activities into a fully integrated programme.
  • Review contractor schedules and assess compliance with project requirements.
  • Perform critical path analysis and identify schedule risks and opportunities.
  • Develop recovery plans and mitigation strategies where delays are identified.
  • Produce project controls reports, dashboards and executive-level schedule updates.
  • Analyse productivity trends, schedule performance and forecasting metrics.
  • Support change management and assess programme impacts arising from scope changes.
  • Facilitate planning meetings and provide planning expertise to project teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Interface directly with client leadership, project managers, design consultants and contractors.

Overview

Our client, a leading Owner's Representative organisation supporting some of the world's largest pharmaceutical and life sciences manufacturers, is seeking an experienced Lead Scheduler / Planning Manager to join their project delivery team in Cork. This is an exceptional opportunity to play a key role in the planning and delivery of major capital investment projects ranging from process equipment installations and brownfield modifications through to large-scale manufacturing facilities and infrastructure programmes. Working as part of an integrated client team, you will provide leadership across all aspects of project scheduling, planning governance, progress measurement, forecasting, and schedule risk management.


Your role

About You

Required Experience


  • Relevant years of experience in project planning, scheduling or project controls.

  • Previous experience on large-scale pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, semi-conductor, mission critical or industrial projects.

  • Strong understanding of EPCM, EPC and construction project delivery models.

  • Demonstrable experience developing and managing complex integrated master schedules.

  • Experience reviewing contractor programmes and analysing schedule performance.

  • Knowledge of engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning sequencing.

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Ability to influence multidisciplinary project teams and senior stakeholders.


Technical Skills


  • Expert knowledge of Primavera P6.

  • Experience with Schedule Risk Analysis tools such as Acumen Risk, Safran or Primavera Risk Analysis.

  • Strong understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling.

  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and project controls reporting.

  • Advanced reporting and data analytics skills desirable.

  • Familiarity with Power BI would be advantageous.


Qualifications


  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Project Management or related discipline.

  • Professional certification such as PMI-SP, AACE, PMP, Planning Engineer or equivalent would be advantageous.
