Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead design deliverables for water and wastewater treatment projects in Ireland. You will coordinate a design team under a design manager, ensuring technical excellence, safety compliance and timely outputs.

Key requirements include knowledge of wastewater plant processes, strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills, plus the ability to develop and deliver robust mechanical designs across project stages.

Qualifications

• Chartered membership is advantageous but not essential while progressing towards incorporated or chartered status.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Proven leadership and decision making within a team setting.
• Water and wastewater design experience is highly desirable.
• Commercial awareness and ability to work with clients and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Report to Design Manager and contribute to multi-disciplinary design deliverables for water and wastewater plants.
• Assist in mechanical design from site surveys, optioneering, feasibility studies, to detailed design and tender pricing.
• Prepare procurement specifications, hydraulic calculations and construction drawings.
• Project-manage third party designs and aid installation and commissioning teams.
• Coordinate with other discipline designers and help drive a one-team culture.
