Job summary

Capital Switchgear in Ireland is seeking an Electrical Test Engineer / Electrician to own and execute detailed electrical inspection, testing and verification of LV switchgear and control panels. The role requires interpreting drawings, diagnosing faults and ensuring safety, quality and customer requirements are met before delivery.

You will work with Production, Quality, Projects and Engineering, providing guidance to junior staff and contributing to testing standards and processes.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrician or degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Experience reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics and specifications.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities with LV switchgear/testing.
• Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Carry out detailed electrical inspection, testing and functional verification of LV switchgear and control panels.
• Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, test procedures and project documentation.
• Verify panels against drawings, specifications and testing requirements; perform safety and quality checks.
• Lead FAT activities and report results with corrective actions; support continuous improvement.
