Job summary

Design ID is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to coordinate project teams and deliver high-quality civil, structural or geotechnical design outputs. You will apply your experience to lead technical problem solving and ensure delivery aligns with client and regulatory standards.

You will mentor junior engineers, manage budgets and programmes, and engage with clients at workshops and meetings to represent Design ID professionally on infrastructure projects across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum CEng qualification, or working towards with strong progression evidence.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Strong software skills relevant to structural, civil or geotechnical design.
• Experience in project management and technical delivery across multiple design stages.
• Ability to coordinate project teams and deliver high-quality outputs.
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines and budgets.
• Experience delivering projects from scheme design through to on-site support.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating project teams and ensuring clear, consistent communication across disciplines.
• Delivering technical engineering solutions and applying innovative problem-solving approaches.
• Producing and reviewing design work using software relevant to structural, civil or geotechnical design.
• Managing project quality and ensuring outputs meet client, regulatory and internal standards.
• Supporting project management including programming, budgeting and resource planning.
• Preparing engineering reports, drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Providing leadership, mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and graduates.
• Managing project deadlines and budgets to ensure efficient, timely delivery.
• Engaging with clients, representing Design ID professionally at meetings and workshops.
• Supporting delivery from early feasibility through to construction involvement.
• Collaborating with the wider engineering team across multidisciplinary project environments.
