Job summary

Amazon Web Services is seeking a leader for the database software development team responsible for a new caching service and large-scale distributed database technologies. You will mentor engineers, deliver high-impact projects, and influence business strategy with senior leadership.

You will work closely with product management to ensure technical decisions align with business goals while delivering cutting-edge solutions that drive AWS competitiveness.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development lifecycle
• Experience in engineering team management
• Experience in leading the definition and development of multi tier web services
• Experience partnering with product and program management teams

Responsibilities

• Hire, mentor and lead a database software development team
• Lead design, implementation, and deployment of highly distributed, large scale services
• Responsible for identifying, commissioning and leading work on complex, large-scale systems that have a major impact on the entire company
• Serve as a lead on demanding, multi-team, cross-functional projects
