Job summary

Transport Infrastructure Ireland seeks an experienced environmental acoustics specialist to lead, review, and deliver noise assessments for major transport projects across planning, construction and operation phases. You will manage strategic noise mapping programmes, collaborate with multiple departments, and help implement new noise standards while engaging with regulators and local authorities.

Qualifications

Honours degree in Environmental Science (NFQ Level 8) or equivalent.
At least 7 years’ experience as an environmental professional.
Experience in planning, design and delivery of transport projects with a noise focus.
Excellent communication and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

Provide expert leadership and oversight for acoustic assessments across planning, construction and operation phases.
Manage strategic noise mapping programmes and use modelling software and cloud platforms.
Engage with Local Authorities, regulators and stakeholders on noise management and compliance.
Review environmental impact assessment documents to ensure best-practice application.
Develop and implement noise standards and mitigation strategies for national projects.
Collaborate with academia and industry to advance acoustic measurement and modelling tools.
Present findings to internal stakeholders and external bodies as required.
