Job summary

ESB is seeking a Senior Specialist to act as Lead Electrical Engineer for renewable energy projects. Based in Dublin, the role entails providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with clients, contractors, and OEMs to ensure successful project delivery.

The position supports ESB’s Net Zero by 2040 strategy with a focus on HV power, BESS, substations, and associated electrical infrastructure across design, build and EPC contracts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of seven years' post-graduate experience in HV power and renewable energy projects.
• Proven track record delivering major engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of PSDP/CMDC, safety design and industry standards.
• Experience leading engineering delivery, tendering and procurement.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Leadership and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of large renewable energy projects with technical leadership.
• Manage feasibility studies, due diligence, design evolution and tender documentation.
• Oversee procurement, contract strategy and administration of D&B/EPC contracts.
• Ensure design assurance, contractor management and safety governance.
• Oversee construction, commissioning and QA activities.
