Electricity Supply Board is seeking a Senior Professional Electrical Engineer to join the Project & Design Group within Generation Engineering Delivery in Dublin. You will lead end-to-end electrical projects, specify and verify designs, and coordinate across teams to meet decarbonisation targets.
The role emphasizes owner’s engineering, technical assurance and asset support for ESB’s generation portfolio, with hybrid working arrangements and a flexible workplace across Dublin and Cork locations.

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Professional Electrical Engineer to join the Project & Design Group within Generation Engineering Delivery. The successful candidate will support ESB in the delivery of new generation projects, including the development of zero and low carbon generating assets, the support of existing assets within ESB’s plant portfolio, and the provision of consultancy services to international clients.
The Generation Engineering Delivery department within ESB Engineering and Major Projects leads engineering support for ESB’s generation business. The department manages the engineering aspects of new generation developments and provides asset management services to the existing ESB Generation fleet.
In support of ESB’s strategic objectives of decarbonising electricity, building resilient infrastructure and empowering clients, the Senior Professional Electrical Engineer will contribute to the development and delivery of zero and low carbon generation projects, provide engineering support to maintain and enhance the performance of ESB’s existing generation assets, and support the delivery of engineering consultancy services to clients.
The role combines project delivery, owner's engineering, technical assurance and asset support activities across ESB's generation portfolio.
Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to the following:
Smart Working at ESB is designed to make ‘in-person’ time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility. The successful candidate may work flexibly within the jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration at least two days per week. All Smart Working arrangements are subject to regular review based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the business.
