Job summary

Lourdes Youth and Community Services Ltd invites applications for an Early Childhood Care and Education Lead Educator (37.5 hours/wk) in Dublin. Lead a room, mentor staff, and deliver a high-quality, child-centred programme guided by Aistear and Síolta.

You will work with families, Tusla and Better Start frameworks, maintain strong partnerships, and ensure regulatory compliance while supporting inclusive practice for diverse needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum QQI Level 6 in Early Childhood Care & Education / Childcare
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Strong knowledge of Aistear, Síolta, and Tusla regulations
• Willingness to obtain Paediatric First Aid if not held

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day running of your assigned room, ensuring a safe, stimulating, inclusive and nurturing environment
• Plan, implement and evaluate a high-quality, child-led curriculum based on Aistear and Síolta
• Act as a key person for assigned children; complete observations, learning stories and development records
• Support transitions and additional needs (including AIMS where relevant)
• Supervise, mentor and support room staff including students and CE participants
• Build partnerships with parents/carers through daily communication, meetings and involvement
• Ensure compliance with Tusla regulations, safeguarding policies, health & safety, hygiene and fire safety
• Contribute to room/service planning, team meetings, CPD and quality improvement
• Support inclusive practice and work with multi-disciplinary teams
