Job summary

Archer Recruitment in Dublin partners with a well-established organisation to hire a Lead Cyber Security Engineer into a dedicated security function. This is a hands-on role for someone who has progressed from systems administration into security engineering and will work closely with the CISO.

You will lead security engineering projects, secure AD, Entra ID and M365, drive IAM/PAM and Azure security, and coordinate with MSSP/SOC on detection and incident response within a live enterprise

Qualifications

• 8+ years of IT experience in security engineering.
• Strong foundations in systems administration, infrastructure or Microsoft enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience securing AD, Entra ID, M365 and related Microsoft security technologies.
• Experience implementing and improving security controls in live production environments.
• Good knowledge of networking, firewalls, vulnerability management and secure architecture.
• Experience working within a regulated enterprise environment.
• Strong technical, analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead security engineering projects from design through implementation.
• Secure and harden Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.
• Improve IAM, PAM, endpoint and Azure security controls.
• Drive vulnerability remediation and infrastructure hardening.
• Support secure network design, segmentation and Zero Trust initiatives.
• Review new systems, technologies and projects from a security perspective.
• Act as a key technical point of contact with the MSSP / SOC across detection, logging and incident response.
• Provide technical security guidance across IT and security teams.
