Job summary

Setanta Trucks in Dublin is offering a SOLAS-approved Motor Mechanic Apprenticeship. You will learn by doing in a modern workshop, earn while you learn, and develop skills on light commercial vehicles under the guidance of experienced technicians.

The programme provides hands-on training, access to industry-leading manufacturer training and a nationally recognised qualification on completion, with opportunities for progression within Setanta Group.

Qualifications

• Interest in vehicle mechanics and motor industry.
• Be enthusiastic, reliable and eager to learn.
• Willingness to develop problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Learn to service, maintain and repair light commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.
• Use diagnostic equipment and workshop technology.
• Carry out routine servicing and inspections.
• Assist with engine, transmission, brake and suspension repairs.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Follow manufacturer standards and safety procedures.
• Develop skills toward becoming a qualified Motor Mechanic.
