Dawn Meats is recruiting a Lairage Operative to join our Grannagh, Waterford team. This permanent, full‑time role involves receiving and storing livestock in line with animal welfare guidelines and legislation, helping the Lairage team meet production targets with full traceability and compliance.

The ideal candidate will have livestock handling experience, good numeracy and communication skills, and the ability to work with limited supervision and as part of a team; proficiency with MS Office

Role Summary

Dawn Meats have opportunities for a Lairage Assistant to join our team in Grannagh Co. Waterford. The lairage position will require you to be responsible for the receiving and storage of animals in accordance with animal welfare guidelines and legislation. The successful candidate will be part of the Lairage Team helping meet production targets whilst maintaining total traceability and legislative compliance.

Responsibilities

• Unloading livestock and counting deliveries to ensure they match the accompanying paperwork.
• Assessing stock deliveries to highlight any problem animals.
• Booking deliveries on to the computer and printing traceability information.
• Transferring animals to holding pens prior to slaughter.
• Maintaining a clean working environment within the Lairage daily.

Qualifications
